This effort is my first with oil pastels. Not wishing to cart oil paints, brushes and canvas to Paris last winter, I took a drawing tablet, a collection of oil pastels and some latex gloves as this medium is quite messy–at least the way I use it.
One grey and rainy February morning I captured this view of our dining space in the beautiful flat. The scene was illuminated with diffuse light from several floor to ceiling windows bearing a southern exposure. The table had an interesting rounded base on which the top sat.
