Butterfly (June 2013) bronze

The ease with which metal can be cut with a plasma cutter is evident when you see the wings of a two foot long butterfly made of bronze. This particular specimen has been treated to allow the bronze to oxidize and form a very attractive verdigris patina. The Butterfly is mounted on heavy brass rod that is secured to a stainless steel base.
