This sculpture was completed for a September 2012 exhibition. During that exhibition I was inspired to create a bearing point on which the butterfly could easily pivot. While the spin is smooth and seamless, the spinning wings of this sculpture weigh about 6 lbs, so no air, short of a gale force wind, will move it. A water spray, however, gives this sculpture a delightful new dimension . . . Can a fountain installation with spinning butterflies be far off? Click here to view this work.
